REC / YOUTH SCORING

Rec & Youth Cheer Scoring

Rec cheer has more variation than any other tier. The dominant system is Pop Warner / YCADA — effective June 1 each year. AYC, AAU, and JAMZ each have their own rules that complement this framework.

📅 Key date: June 1

YCADA publishes new Rules/Scoring Packets effective June 1 each year. Anything choreographed before that date may be using last season's rules. Age determination: Pop Warner/YCADA uses the age of the oldest team member on July 31— different from USASF's birth-year grid.
